-Night_hawk- Posted August 25, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2013 I do hope that the day scientists discover dark-matter, or sumtyn powerful and currently unknown, and they decide to atom smash it at LHC that they have some big guns standing close by....we don't know what would happen, but if a portal happens who knows what's on the other side...(Sounds like the storyline to old dos game doom...scientists open portal to hell..) In other words, for example, should a black hole be created it would be so small as to be an insignifcant threat, and would "disappear" within nanoseconds. Out.... Yeah well, you kinda hit the nail on the head there, when you mention the fictional portal in the game Doom. Emphasis on the word "fictional". Portals don't exist. The total energy stored in the LHC beam is equivalent to 77.4 kg of TNT. So if a test nuclear explosion (equivalent to millions of tonnes of TNT) doesn't open a portal to a hell dimension, I don't see how colliding a couple of protons will. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
