That's interesting. We've got some fossilized clams at home given to us by a friend who found them. They're not as big as that one in the video though, which is probably just as well!

First time I've seen a giant clam in its natural habitat. Wow.

Saw them snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef, beautiful animals with mantles of electric blues and greens. The ones we saw were about 3 feet across. BTW, little ones are often farmed and sold for marine reef aquariums, the smaller species only get around a foot across.
