Watched MTV VMA last weekend. And had to endure a Catholic retreat lead by a priest known to be a miracle worker.

It seems to me the ratio of things getting better vs things getting worse is weighted on the things getting worse side. I didn't watch the MTV VMA, but from the reports I read and the "music" that won awards, popular culture in the U.S. is maybe the worse it's ever been.

Should the human race be punished by ET? We probably should be punished, then shown a better way to express ourselves.

This likelihood may be slim, so perhaps creeping things getting better is our only hope.

Absolutely! There are many wonderful, caring, intelligent people doing great things in the world. I guess I would rather see the good in people. I also got rid of my cable television years ago! Don't miss it a bit.

That's a good decision imho. Far too much negativity, low life general habitual living, and commercialism on TV these days.

Your statement is somewhat Paradoxical and radical. Do you believe we all should be punished? By your thinking as Humans we all fall into one category. Many people in History have thought like that, probably the most Notorious being Hitler. but while his view was limited to groups, yours damns us all. Take a while to reflect on that.

Catholocism would state that we should be punished by God, you are stating that we should be punished by Aliens. Do you not see the irony in your statement and the danger that you have have just replaced one excuse to not be responsible for our futures with another.

As others have posted, there is plenty of good in the world. Lets focus on cleaning up our own mess and stop dreaming of some 'all powerful' to come and sort it out for us.
