Wild fires are supposed to happen in the sierras. There are organisms that are evolved for it. We have been suppressing fires for long enough now that a huge amount of dead wood has unnaturally built up. It can now get to hot for the recovery organisms to survive. Expect many more huge fires like this in the future. Man needs to not be involved in the Rhythms of nature.
