Still Waters Posted September 26, 2013 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2013 Scientists believe that a new fossil discovery from China is the world's oldest known example of the bone structure we now recognize as a face. The remarkably well-preserved fish (an example of the species Entelognathus primordialis) was discovered in Southeast China in a layer of sediment dating back to the Silurian period - making the specimen roughly 419 million years old. http://www.independe...sh-8841257.html

That's knocked Mrs.Ealdwita off the top step of the podium, anyway!

qxcontinuum Posted October 23, 2013 #13 Share Posted October 23, 2013 (edited) Wouldn't be interesting through some lets say magical gate to travel back in time to that period, seeing a specific fish that somehow lead genetically to your own origins. Basically that is your grand father. How would you feel looking at that creature, swimming around careless and indifferent, knowing he is you nut 4000 billion years less.
