Man cheats death after lodging axe in skull

3 posts in this topic

Sheldon Mpofu, 37, was turning soil when he swung the massive tool but hit his washing line on the way down.

The pick-axe swung back and the pointed end hit him in the middle of the head, missing his brain and entering a sinus - an empty space in the skull.

Despite his injury he still took a bus to hospital where doctors were stunned the pickaxe had not killed him.

Has health and safety and pure old common sense not hit West Yorkshire yet?

You do not have to be a lumberjack to know that swinging a massive tool (pick axes) near the washing lines do not go well together!

Sorry, but there is only one massive tool here and thats HIM.

Mistakes do happen, he's only human after all. I'm glad he's ok.
