Centipede Venom Could Lead to Painkiller

Scientists reporting in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences have discovered a peptide in the venom of the Chinese red-headed centipede, Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans, with the potential to be developed into a pain drug as effective as morphine.

When they bite, venom goes in, and that is the exact oppisite of a pain killer...

Some of the larger species from S.E. Asia are formidable predators, even killing venomous snakes.

@ yukiesmaelite0 the venom most likely parylizes its victim there for numbing them. And so it could be a painkiller. Same principle as snake venom or spider venom
