I Loved What You Possessed But Never Knew

5 posts in this topic

I loved what you possessed but never knew

Not only the mystery of your eyes

Awoke in me the heat of my body

Or your fair lips inviting the warmth of my own

But what was hidden from me

What was spoken of in the softness of your speech

What I saw in the grace of your movement

The gentle touch I might have known

Very good, almost like reverie

Thanks, Cloudshill. I wrote that about forty years ago when I was a romantic youth. I wasn't then, nor am I now much of a poet. It's a reverie alright about a specific person I should have taken seriously way back then.

To me this tells me not to waste your chances.

To take a risk with reckless, youthful love.

Thanks for sharing, Star.

Tender loving thoughts of what might have been - nice one.
