Male spiders give 'gifts' to aid reproduction

Male spiders have been documented wrapping flies and other "gifts" in their silk and presenting the package to a female with the hopes of mating. New research suggests that these gifts give the males a better chance at fathering offspring.

So when it comes to spiders they don't "put a ring on it" rather they "put a fly on it" ?

And then the female eats them...

Human females are dangerous enough... I'm just glad I'm not a spider - or preying mantis...
