'60 Minutes' apologizes for Benghazi report

5 posts in this topic

WASHINGTON, Nov. 8 (UPI) -- "60 Minutes" correspondent Lara Logan apologized for a report on the U.S. response to the consulate attack in Benghazi, Libya, that included wrong information.

CBS said Thursday its "60 Minutes" newsmagazine learned of new information that contradicts the account given by a contractor using the pseudonym "Morgan Jones" concerning his actions when the diplomatic compound was attacked Sept. 11, 2012, and three members of the diplomatic corps, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed.

Logan on Friday told CBS News that Jones, whose real name is Dylan Davies has recounted his story of what happened on the night of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

So, the story that caused all the uproar turns out to be slightly fabricated?

That doesn't sound good at all.

i find it hilarious when she says that the most important thing to everyone at 60 minutes is the truth. Seriously? Remember when they were tipping trucks over to hammer SUVs' CBS is pretty much the gold standard for making ****e up. Dan Rather had that Bush story that was completely fabricated and he insisted it didn't matter, it was the allegations that count. Never reporting a negative word on a democrat until their arm was bent up behind their backs till it popped? The truth and CBS are fairly estranged unless it fits their leftist agenda.

Pretty lady and maybe she really believes the stuff she is saying but CBS is more biased than any medium since Pravda. We used to call it the Clinton Broadcasting System. I'm just surprised they admitted it here, Dan Rather never would've.
