Ancient cave drawings discovered in Brazil

Wildlife researchers came across the prehistoric rock-art while searching for white-lipped peccaries.

Considered a strong environmental indicator of healthy forests, peccaries are of great interest to the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) which surveys their numbers as part of its conservation efforts. While searching for the pig-like creatures in Brazil\'s Cerrado plateau however, researchers came across something unexpected - a series of ancient cave drawings dating back up to 10,000 years.

No peccaries, no cave art and a file photo that could be Pennsylvania.

Yes, I felt the same way, having seen cave art in Europe I was hoping for something to compare it to; to see if there were any representations of the South American megafauna.

Judging strictly by the photo and the headlines.. A peccary could be either a hill, a tree, a forest or a forested hill...
