+susieice Posted November 20, 2013 #1 Share Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) http://www.space.com/23643-record-setting-rocket-launch-ors3.html NASA is launching a record 29 satellites tonight from a launch pad in Virginia. It should be visible from Canada to Florida and as far inland as Michigan. Will be going out in a few minutes to see if I can see anything. Skies here are clear. Just to be pedantic, although launching from Wallops, a NASA facility, this is NOT a NASA launch, it's a US Air Force launch.
Waspie_Dwarf Posted November 20, 2013 #5 Share Posted November 20, 2013 QRS 3 Mission Launches from WallopsA Minotaur I rocket launched Nov. 19 from NASA's Wallops Flight Facility on the U. S. Air Force's Operationally Responsive Space Office's ORS-3 mission. The ORS-3 Mission, also known as an enabler mission, will demonstrate and validate launch and range improvements for NASA and the military. Aside from the primary payload -- the Space Test Program Satellite-3 (STPSat-3), ORS-3 transported about 28 small cubesat satellites to space. Among the cubesats were NASA's PhoneSat2 and the first cubesat built by high school students.Credit: NASASource: NASA - Multimedia
+susieice Posted November 20, 2013 Author #6 Share Posted November 20, 2013 Thanks Waspie. I've been following our local weatherlady. They do have pics coming in but they are only posted on facebook. If they go on their website I will post them. There are some nice ones. I went out but couldn't really see anything.
