Likely Guy Posted December 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2013 I admit to being geographically challenged. It takes me an hour and fifteen minutes to get to the grocery store/doctor's/hardware store, whatever. I'm also driving over the speed limit. There are also no towns past mine (barring a seasonal road).

Did you know that there actually is a banana plantation in Canada? It's in Osoyoos, B.C.
Peter B Posted December 13, 2013 #11 Share Posted December 13, 2013 But did you know the story of how Canada got its name? Supposedly three fur trappers were stuck out in the backwoods, and to pass the time they decided to name the land they were in. They were excited to discover that one of them had brought a game of Scrabble with them, thinking it might help somehow. But then they discovered that all the vowels were missing. "Well, let's give it a try anyway, eh?" said one. "Okay, let's each of us pull out a letter and see what we get, eh? said another. They all pulled out a letter and lined them up. "What have we got, what have we got?" the first two asked eagerly. The third looked carefully at the letters. "C, eh. N, eh. D, eh."
