seaturtlehorsesnake Posted January 7, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2014 i'm not sure what the policy is on posting links here (man, that's a little embarrasing). i hope this is ok, though? it's a blog post, but on wired. http://www.wired.com...-spider-phobia/ it's about an interesting little study some people did to try to to find out more about how arachnaphobia affects people, and where it comes from. also, david tennant. it seems to indicate that the fear of spiders is more a learned fear, than one that has an evolutionary basis. What about a fear of David Tennant? it does not exactly say, but it's reasonable to assume that that is a learned fear. perhaps caused by being frightened by a wild david tennant early in life. ShadowSot Posted January 7, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2014 Well that explains it, I was bitten by a David Tennant once. Davidodecadoctorphobia it's called. Was it a radioactive David Tennant? Favorite bit from the article: There is a remarkably large research field pretty much based on getting people to look at spiders and poke them with sticks. For Science.
