probably buried under the Sphynx. Ifcourse, the Sphynx is far older that an Ark, or the Bible, or Jerusalem, . So when underneath it is dug up, ancient libraries, books, tech, ships, alien remains, etc. will be found.

Yes, the second ark was built to specifically hold the replacement tablets that God said he would inscribe for him again... 'cause Moses broke the first ones :( whoops!

Then Moses turned and went down from the mountain with the two tablets of the testimony in his hand, tablets that were written on both sides; on the front and on the back they were written. 16 The tablets were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, engraved on the tablets. … And as soon as he came near the camp and saw the calf and the dancing, Moses’ anger burned hot, and he threw the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain. -Exodus 32:15-16, 19

Nothing was said he broke the ark.

I think that there is a possibility that the makers of "Raiders of the lost ark" are pretty close tto the truth. Except for the indiana jones guy.

A wel know story here, still told often in familie reunions, and fairs.

During WW2, german soldiers demolished a 13th century templar castle near " Templeuve" here nearby, they broke it almost to the ground, systematically stone by stone. with the use of allot of machines.

After weeks of breaking down and digging, a heavy guarded, convoi of about 30 trucks escorted by two flakvierling mounted on halftracks. And several other defences, and troops.

On the road between Tournai and Courtray at the hight of Kooigem, the convoi was attacked by diving spitfires, they dived from above Courtrai a few meters above the road firing at the convoi. one of the plaisn dropped, while diving a bomb, right in the middle of the trucks. People still recalls the screaming and howling of the injured or buning soldiers. The german Flakvierling's started to fire out of their four barrels, and the spitfires kept diving while firing their wingguns.....The drumroll sound of the flaks is another thing most who withnessed never forgot. one plain was hit a spinning around it hit the ground in a field close to a village. When the spitfires left. Several people withnessed that out of one of the tilted trucks soldiers dressed in dark rubber suits had gasmasks on with canisters on their back. the where also the only people who loaded a crate of 2 by 1.5 meter from the tilted truck into another truck from wich they unloaded the crates that where in it before. A shoolteacher who withnessed everyting from a house close to that truck road later everything down, and it seems he took pictures, altho I never saw them people claim they have been published in a newspaper after the war.

That particular crate must have been very inmportant because other crates where droped on the side of the road to place the rather small crate alone in the back of the truck. and they left in a hurry with a Flak and a little heavly weaponed escort. leaving the wounded and killed behind. It took the rest of the convoi almost the whole day before they started moving.

People who visited the site afterwards, but with the still smoking destroyed vehicles, found in the dark allot of broken or burned crates with little and lager egytian looking, stone statues, and slabs with, as they say, egyptian scriptures.

Later that night the gestapo arrived and they smached the doors of ceveral civilians in the village, some people where executed in front of their frontdoor in plain sight. It seems a golden cross about a meter high was stolen.

If they found it back nobody knows, because, some families where deported never to be seen back again.

What I have withnessed with my own eyes are about 15 cm high yellow stone statues, depicting animals, and are egyptian looking. that a few people still posses from that day.

Whats important to me, and to allot of people is why between so many trucks loaded with artwork, was so much more important and needed special protection to handle. People here believed in a curse from a farao,........ I dont believe that it must have been something much more tangible......

Carve out for yourself two tablets of stone like the first ones, and I must write upon the tablets the words that appeared on the first tablets, which you shattered..." -Exodus 34:1

I've heard that the Ark of the Covenant is in Axum, Ethiopia, in a temple.

The Ark of the Covenant, is said to have been stolen from King Solomon by Menelik, his son by The Queen of Sheba.

It was supposedly taken to Lallibela in Ethiopia where a church, carved from living rock beneath ground level was built to house it.

A priest of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is nominated to be locked up with the Ark, to guard it, he will never come out of the area where the Ark is secured until he dies. He will then be replaced.

No need for all those theories, as I stated in post #30:

I happen know it is in a warehouse in the US, after it was found by an American archeology professor :tu:

Tsk tsk (snik snak)....I am using it as a bed stand in my guest room. It is a bit pointy, but since I don't have guests sleeping over that often it works out pretty well.

There was this archeologist who gave a lecture I attended. He was visiting. He had a large copy of some Hebrew text. Naturally being very old it had no vowel points. So, it consisted of all consonants. Having spent his life looking for the Ark, he took us through his journey of discoveries of "facts." After that it all boiled down to him figuring out that the text was not to be read from the left or the right or top to bottom or bottom to top. He had done all of those ways of reading it. Instead it was to be read diagonally. From that he got what he needed. He says he knows where it is. In a cave that has been reopened where a discovery of another kind occurred. But from what he says he now knows, he says the back of the unearthed entrance of the cave, he now knows was not really the end of the cave but a wall put in place. He said he would have excavated it by now, but it is in a place where such is not permitted. Perhaps in or near Jordan. I can't remember. There was this massive bluff and the huge cave went into the wall of the bluff. I remember it was on the side of Jordan opposite the temple.

Anyway, sorry I have no notes from his lecture. You could probably find him by googling "archaeologist knows where the ark is," "bible lands," and "the ark of the covenant"--all at once...

WOW! That was ten years ago!!!

Perhaps this is it: http://www.wyattmuseum.com/

I think it is...

But I'm really not into it! But though I could contribute to possibilities.

Don't forget! Lots of people, myself included, were convinced the golden chalice never existed until they found it and recently publicized it.

Hmmm. Based on this thread's adherents looking for fictional items, I could make a killing with my maps to Hogwarts, my book The Charlotte's Web Code, or my DVD series about the lost god Urasuckah. Offers are cash only. No refunds. Void where prohibited.

Really? I'd like to see the source for this.

Okay, folks... let's go back to the source.

It's written by a very noted and very famous scholar, who maintains a blog full of interesting research. You can find it here:

http://paleojudaica.blogspot.co.uk/

His article about the newspaper story says:

It's a good article, which quotes me correctly and makes the text interesting without distorting the fact that it's just a collection of legends. I think that's the first time I've been called "a modern-day Indiana Jones." Maybe that should go in the masthead.

In other words, these are folktales and urban legends of that time. They were not written by anyone who ever had contact with any of the items or even with King Solomon -- the document was written over a thousand years AFTER that time.

See here for that post: http://paleojudaica.blogspot.co.uk/2014_01_05_archive.html#7198323794302346399

Davila's the real thing. He's a respected Biblical scholar and historian. Teaches at St. Andrews, got his PhD from Harvard (I think). '

It was last seen in the 1950's ,in a hangar at area 51, when an American archeologist was fighting some evil communists over possesion of a crystal skull. (its a long story !)

Maybe you stole it after that happened ?

The ark was a drum, look at this way how much time would Moses have made a ark climbing up a mountain, he would have taken a tree stump, when he came down the people heard the thunder of the mountain.

http://www.christian...rg/4319.article

The ark was not created until AFTER Moses came down with the tablet of the laws -- and after they decided to move from that location. The tablets had been set up in a sanctuary.
