Man-in-undies sculpture causes stir

8 posts in this topic

A remarkably lifelike sculpture of a man sleepwalking in nothing but his underpants has made some Wellesley College students a bit uncomfortable, but the president of the prestigious women's school says that's all part of the intellectual process.

Zombie Apocalypse anyone?

Lost mental patient. Looking for the way back to his bed. (I think it looks sad)

Yah... it looks creepy 'cause it looks like a nutty naked man stumbling around. From a distance I can definitely see how women would get freaked out until they realized it was a statue.

Very good work though.

I never understand how someone can make either a picture or sculpture in this case, of a warped image in their brain, and it gets called "art".

I do not see the "intellectusl process" here, I just see some disturbed mental image has been created in the form of a sculpture for the public to see.

Personally, I think the best place for this is....safely tucked away in his mind with whatever other warped images he has.

I am inclined to fully agree with you. It's just shock value. We really ought to be used to it by now.
