–President Obama, State of the Union address, Jan. 28, 2014

This line jumped out at The Fact Checker during last week’s State of the Union address. An old journalistic rule is to never label something “unprecedented.” On what basis does the president label these inspections as “unprecedented”—which “verify every day that Iran is not building a bomb?”

2 Pinocchios.....

Cute. What will not be so cute is the day that the Iranians tell the world they are a nuclear armed state. It will happen as soon as they make the decision to do so. Even bombing their country will not stop that now so the world needs to start looking at how to contain the damage. S.A. has purchased Pakistani warheads and Chinese ballistic missiles to mate them to. So the region is getting a "bogo" on nukes. Well done, Mr President. No worries though, it's only 2 Pinocchios.

I took that to mean unprecedented between Iran and the US not in all time. But that's just me.
