questionmark Posted February 14, 2014 #1 Share Posted February 14, 2014 BIECZ, Poland, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- A woman was sentenced to four months in prison in the deaths of about 2 million bees in a failed pest control operation in Poland, court officials said. The woman, identified only as Joanna S., used a pesticide not approved by the Ministry of Health to cull a local mosquito population after flooding in and around the southern Polish town of Biecz in 2010. After she completed the operation, beekeepers noticed as many as 358 bee colonies, comprising more than 2 million bees, the Polish News Agency reported Friday.
