With millions of people hanging on your every word, it was a slip-up Pope Francis would really have preferred not to make.

While giving his weekly blessing from the Vatican, the Argentinian mistakenly uttered the word '****' in Italian before quickly correcting himself.

But within seconds his mistake was posted on dozens of Italian media websites and YouTube and had gained millions of worldwide hits as it went viral.

I'm wondering if there isn't another word in Italian that sounds similar (but with a more appropriate meaning) that he meant to use?

I say this because one of the ladies I teach English as a second language to was trying to describe her trip to a hockey game...the word 'puck' came out considerably 'wrong'.

OMG!

(I betcha he's not only said it, he's done it as well)

The Pope, who speaks fluent Italian, used the word "cazzo" — which translates to the word "penis," but for Italians is synonymous with the f-word — instead of "caso," the word for "example."

I have to blame this one on his translators. Sometimes they just can't pronounce anything right.

Actually, their is a confessor for the pope... Or their traditionally is... A relatively low "ranking" priest, and that is his primary job...

I would imagine that the confessions of a really decent pope, would be rather boring... However, the confessions of the popes in

the time of the Borgia's would be VERY interesting!...
