Man arrested while trying to turn himself in

March. 19 (UPI) -- A Florida man chose to go against the grain on St. Patrick's Day by attempting to get himself locked up after apparently having one too many.

Jackie Eugene Mayo tried to turn himself in at Marion County Jail on Monday on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation on a DUI arrest, but he had a tough time finding his way in.

According to the Ocala Star Banner, “Mayo made his way to the booking entrance of the jail and a corrections officer tried to talk with him,” but the 32-year-old man “began yelling and screaming.”

I'm not sure I completely understand what I just read...he was banging on the doors trying to get into the police station to turn himself in and when someone came to help him accomplish that goal, he got mad? Did he not want a police escort, is this something he wanted to do on his own to prove he was a big boy or what?! Is the guy really that ridiculous or did I misread that whole thing because I'm totally lost...
