For one reason or another - perhaps it was the flashy headline, or the gruesome mysterious details - a nearly decade-old story published by the Harvard Crimsonabout a collection of books at the university's library, that are allegedly bound in human skin, crawled to the surface of the Internet this week.

There is such a book. Don't know how many of you have heard of Weird New Jersey magazine, but in one of their issues they had about a murderer by the name of LeBlanc. He was executed for murder back in the early 1800s in New Jersey. Anyhow the magazine had a photo of his death mask and also a book or wallet covered in his skin.Been awhile since I read the article, but the killer was real and the article or articles covered with his skin are also real. How much truth to the story of books bound with human skin I don't know, but considering what old Ed Gein did, nothing would surprise me.

The killer was Antoine LeBlanc who killed Mr.and Mrs.Sayres in Morristown ,,,,New Jersey in 1833. There is a website Dead in NJ that has info on the crime and as mentioned he was skinned and the skin made into wallets, etc.
