Hummingbirds: still evolving

3 posts in this topic

A newly-published comprehensive family tree for hummingbirds traces the rapid and ongoing birth of new species throughout this modern family's 22-million-year history. Wow, had no idea there were so many types. These are my favorite types of birds, glad they're going strong.

We have only one breed here in North Carolina, USA. I keep feeders out for them, there great to sit and watch.
