Kenemet Posted April 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted April 17, 2014 Great fodder for folks who love urban legends! It's amusing how similar all the "sightings" are... the "great white hunter among the savages" trope, where GWH shoots at/sees something, which then miraculously escapes in spite of the GWH's skill with guns and the amount of firepower and the later legends that confirm what GWH saw. Many of the legends (as with the legends of the "global flood" clearly date to a time when modern culture came into contact with that older culture.) I love stuff like this. Forever Cursed Posted April 17, 2014 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2014 I am gonna have to keep my eyes open because I live in the wild west. Maybe I'll tie a goat to a stake in the yard and see if I can't scare up something larger than a coyote.
magikgoddess Posted July 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2014 I love the one about the wild west's dinosaurs... could you imagine running into one of those (lol- I'd need a new pair of underwear after said event)...
Mr.United_Nations Posted July 12, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 12, 2014 The Giant anaconda and the Giant Wombat are the most plausible stories
Ifonly Posted August 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2014 I think the only credible one among these is the Queensland tiger, i like to think that the thylacine is hanging on somewhere out there.
AbyssWalker Posted August 10, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 10, 2014 I love that site. So many great lists about urban legends, ghosts, aliens and other mysteries.
Earl.Of.Trumps Posted August 11, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2014 While I really don't believe in any of this stuff, I like to read the stories. What about the skeletal remains of the 60 foot long snake? do you believe that one?
