Social Media, A Force for Connection or Not?

I think with social media you just have to take the good with the bad.I like discussion forums such as this one because you have many intelligent people with good ideas and knowledge on the topic they are talking about.My experience with facebook back when i had one,was that it was mainly a tool for nosy,self obsessed,or just flat out stupid people who none cared to talk to face to face.A lot of people i know cant live more than 5 minutes without sending a message to the whole world about what their next move will be.
