Pinocchio would have broken neck

Pinocchio could only have told 13 lies before his nose became so long his neck would have broken, scientists have concluded.

The wooden puppet, created by Italian author Carlo Collodi in 1883, was prone to tall tales and his nose would double in length for each lie.

sheesh... they asked scientists... they should have asked engineers....Obviously Gepetto built him using carbon nano-tubes with titanium reinforcement...

Seriously?, I bet Rapunzel would also have a broken neck. Also in the news...Dracula would have died of a blood borne disease after a few victims, Jack would have passed out and fell to his death after climbing the beanstalk to the heavens...

Pinnochio turned into a donkey as well. How do scientists explain that?

Its very re-assuring to know that it took Scientists a study to find this out, perhaps they can do a study on why Road Runner always gets the better of Wolfie.

Wouldn't even need titanium reinforcement. Carbon Nano-tubes are so strong, they plan to use them for the space elevator cable. Strongest non-natural forming material, extreme cold and heat resistance, and great conductivity for electricity. It truly is the next wonder material created, replacing plastic as the top of the best wonder materials ever created. Heck if you wanted too you could make an whole ship out of the material cause it is strong enough to be used as building material, can be used anywhere on the planet or even in outer space, and it definitely got conductivity which is better than gold so it could be used for energy management. When it is applied to extreme heat or cold or pressure environments, it actually improves the conductivity of the carbon nano-tubes.

just for the people who always like to say "what's the point of this", from the article:

Their work has been published in the Journal of Interdisciplinary Science Topics. The journal aims to show the students the nuts and bolts of scientific paper writing, peer review and publishing – so while the findings may be fun, the science must be accurate.

i do wonder if they took into account the fact that pinocchio was made of wood. he didn't have any neck bones. he didn't have any bones at all.

I wonder if these so called Scientists have long noses which grow every time they issue a statement

This question has haunted me for decades! You have no idea how relieved I am that somebody has eventually done the much required testing!

Finally I can sleep peacefully

Yeah, but titanium is shiney! (if polished)...
