A region over Brazil has become notorious for satellite failures, weird lights and other phenomena.

The Bermuda Triangle that most people are familiar with is an area of the North Atlantic in which multiple ships and planes are believed to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances, but there is another region over parts of South America that is proving to be equally as problematic.

So they think it's due to a difference in radiation levels and not some secret Brazillian sock eating machine?

Isn't it a weakness in the magnetic field that causes more solar particles to hit satellites?

Or I could've just read the article, then I'd know.

Seems like an atmospheric anomaly that we don't fully understand to me, a facet of our earth's magnetic field or Ionosphere that seems to have an effect on our man made lumps of electronics that we hurtle through the heavens. The earth keeps throwing up new discoveries all the time it seems! :)
