Space Station Live commentator Pat Ryan interviews Richard Reinhart, the principal investigator of the Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) test bed. SCaN test bed is an advanced integrated communications system and laboratory facility on the International Space Station. Using a new generation of Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies, this ISS facility will allow researchers to develop, test, and demonstrate new communications, networking, and navigation capabilities in the actual environment of space.
