A new species of bird has been discovered in Indonesia and has been dubbed the Wakatobi Flowerpecker.

Zoologists from Trinity College Dublin, describing their finding in the journal PLOS One, said the colourful bird from the Wakatobi Islands should be recognised as a unique species.

8-) Red-breasted bird.

Before my seeing a rose-breasted grosbeak,

I thought the above color descriptions interchangeable.

The so-named grosbeak, however, has what looks

like a rose with a red stem.

It is a very lovely little creature. Sometimes I wish these new species would never be discovered. People are so destructive. Even if humans love something, we can pester it to death with our infatuation or "scientific" curiosity.

Nice to see an article about the discovery of a new species, seeing as most articles (often rightly) only tend to focus on those that mankind has destroyed....
