Orphaned baby rhino snuggles up to keepers

Still Waters

Recommended Posts

Poignant new footage captures an orphaned baby rhinoceros seeking solace from its keeper.

Four-month-old Gertjie is seen nuzzling a female member of staff from the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre in South Africa with his nose.

In a bid to get closer to her, the thick-skinned creature rolls down on to the floor and affectionately lays his head on her lap.

How to bring a tear to my eye. How sad and sweet at the same time!

Is this along the same vein as a belief in Slenderman and those girls stabbing their friend? This time, brutally murdering animals for some kind of potion?

I am a carnivore, and I have no problem with a kill shot and eating an animal. Even better if that animal has had a life in the wild or been treated humanely as livestock.

But torturing animals for body parts, butchering them to death, keeping them alive to harvest from them, keeping them in inhumane conditions...SICK and TWISTED imo.

Somehow I don't think poachers are about anything humane.

Get in line toast, I think this article will create many baby-rhino huggers (myself included).
