CASTOR Posted March 6, 2003 #3 Share Posted March 6, 2003 i dont really remember any book in paticular that scared me. i remeber Bag of Bones by Stephen King had me on the edge of my seat for about a half hour. i guess things that scare me the most are things that have actually happened to people. i like to read about serial killers, and that stuff scares me a lot. that was a good question. Halo_Jones Posted March 7, 2003 #7 Share Posted March 7, 2003 Stephen King does it for me every time, espacially IT and The Shining Also his short story collections are very good, one story in particular, can't recall the title, it was about a father and son who while driving to the supermarket, encounter giant mutant insects who start killing everyone. It was in the same book with the story about the Vampire Pilot which they've also made into a film. I'm so crap with titles I'd like to see the film but they never do justice to the story. I read a lot of John Saul books, some are creepy, and some just get you thinking, like, "What would happen if this were true?" When it comes to movies, "The Others" creeped me out a little. But I live for giant creature movies, like, "Anaconda", "Deep Blue Sea", and stuff like that. What if creatures of that size really existed?? Now thats a scary thought. The Turn of the Screw, Henry James, has its moments. I particularly like short stories of the supernatural kind; J Sheridan Lefanu, M R James and Edith Wharton, E A Poe, Saki.
