Lack of sleep can create false memories

That's understandable. If you don't sleep you get tired and can't think straight. Do that too often and your brain doesn't work properly.

53 hrs is my longest stay awake, then I got scared in case when I did sleep I wouldn't wake up, but I can't recollect it did any harm, and we all survived.

Lack of sleep is how we got high when we were kids.

^ Haha, that seems true. That explains my poor short-term memory too. I myself believe lack of sleep generally isn't good for us.

There was an article I read a while ago that some think it's one way the brain rids itself of toxins. The author is James Gallagher, and it was BBC. I thought it was an interesting read. (I don't know how to post links yet :/) There have been times when I've sworn I've done something, and my husband swears it just didn't happen, and vice versa. And I have sleep issues. I do think lack of sleep can play with your memory.
