Bakery robbers get away with doughnuts

Recommended Posts

MANSFIELD , Ohio, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Two Ohio women who tried to rob a bakery in Mansfield likely ended up feeling not-so-sweet even though they did get some free doughnuts.

The robbery suspects went to Buckeye Bakers & Schneider's too early on Tuesday morning when 79-year-old Dixie Guegold was working at the counter.

When the pair demanded cash, she handed over doughnuts instead of dough.

Robbing a bakery? I guess the two women were thinking it would be a low profile robbery and easier to get away with? Instead they get donuts from a very nice bakery owner. Love it!

Wouldn't it be a funny twist if it turns out the robbers are ex-cops?

THAT'S funny....LOL :w00t:

My late uncle was a cop and the old bit about cops and donuts was certainly true in his case. I have eaten many a day old Krispy Kreme at his house as a kid :)

Has an ex-cop ever sued over his former career making him a doughnut-addict?

(am merely curious)

Maybe the cashier figured that the robbers were simply more hungry than anything and gave them a doughnut.

Sometimes if a person is hungry and poor, they'll do whatever it takes to get a spot of food.

The doughnut shop should re-locate so this doesn't happen again.

I wouldn't be surprise to hear this happening in the US. They seem to sue at every opportunity for any reason these days.

You aren't kidding! If health issues didn't force me to give up foods like that I would be heading over to KK right now. I love donuts!

Why not? McDonalds got sued over spilt hot coffee and how many times have the tobacco companies been sued? Its seriously ludicrous man!
