Study creates 'time travel' illusion

2 posts in this topic

Virtual reality can be used to give the illusion of going "back in time", according to an exploratory study.

In this virtual world, subjects were able to reduce how many people a gunman killed, an event they had unknowingly been part of.

Going into "the past" increased the level of guilt the participants felt.

I am overly tempted to write a snide comment about increasing the lethality of preps in a virtual world....even though I understand this is an invaluable tool for allowing victims to delude themselves into believing their lack of action could have had a greater effect on the outcome of events.

Which is natural, a lack of action. It is not bad because this is why the victims more often than not survive.

Ours is a strange world ridden with guilt and depression.
