I'm more interested in the thigh bone and clay pots.

Maybe varying layers of rock are wearing at different rates?

It does look like a stylized eye.

I'm going to put the clubhouse right on the pupal and build the golf course down and to the left in that lowland. The area down and slightly right will be used for weddings and receptions. It will all look quite nice once it gets built in 2035.

Here is a close-up view of the Bird's Eye Mound with an analytical drawing.

CTXDark2Drawing2Jpeg.jpg

On closer inspection the "eye-shaped" formation takes on the form of a left facing bird, seen in profile.

Note the head includes a decorative oblong eye, a parted beak and long flowing crest. The main area of the mound conforms to the shape of the bird's body, which includes a folded wing, while a short set of tail feathers extend off the mound towards the right side. The body also has what appears to be a pair of "legs" attached to the bottom of the formation, but its feet are missing.

I'd actually call that a Fanciful Drawing. Most of those lines are pareidolia.

Are we to assume from this that the Martians worshipped a giant eye or bird?

A Bird/Eye shaped mound has been discovered in a MRO HiRISE CTX image by independent Mars researcher Gary Leggiere in the Acidalia Planitia area of Mars.

CTXLargeCropDarkJpeg.jpg

Note the stark isolation of the formation.

I'm more interested in the clear evidence of the area being hit by a giant space shotgun.

Here is a close-up of the "broken legs" which also looks like a enterance way to the interior of the formation.

I only see rocks uninteresting.

I think it's just an optical illusion.

Could also be a slumped, old, smaller crater.

OMG look at that. Those are the supports for ramps. So that's where some of the Egyptian ramps went when they were done with the pyramids.

Mike Bara was so impressed with the Bird's Eye Mound geoglyph that it is featured in Chapter 7 of his latest 2014 book, Ancient Aliens on Mars II.

What I see is self delusion in it's purest form. Pareidolia makes us see things in random patterns that aren't there. It's pure self preservation. It's better to--on occasion--to imagine you see a Tiger, crouching in the bush, that not pick up on the pattern of a real Tiger that's really there.

You are surely joking. Mike Bara?! One of the major kooks in Ufology, one of those making this field laughable? Mike Bara, the one that cannot accept fact and will keep on promoting fantastic tales? Seriously? Is your level that low?

Bring some real facts and maybe you will be taken seriously. Until then, you are one of many here that came, presented and left because they couldn't face fact. So which are you? You want to face fact or run away?

Cheers,

Badeskov
