Olivier Posted November 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Hello, everyone!!! Please, have a look at the picture I sent to you. Look at the shiny thing along the spine of the dog. Could someone tell me what this is ? (I hope it will work. Living in the countryside of France, we are fighting for modernisation - with a limited success : now 40 kb/s.). Diebytheflyguy Posted November 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2004 (edited) Its not an orb, maybe people would call it a vortex? I'm thinking it is hair captured in the shot... tam Posted November 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Olivier thanks for posting that pic. I have know idea what the shiny thing can be. Diebytheflyguythinks it may be a vortex who know? If it helps Oly and its only my opinion it looks to me that the dog is chomping a cat. Best wishes Tam
Olivier Posted November 25, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks for your help, Tam. I agree with you concerning the dog and the cat. A question for Diebytheflyguy : What do you call a vortex ? If it is explainable in a short sentence... Olivier
Diebytheflyguy Posted November 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 25, 2004 First I should clear up that people who believe in ghosts would call that a vortex. I do not, therefore I say its a strand of hair. A vortex? "A vortex is a very strange and mysterious phenomena. They usually take on the appearance of a swirling funnel shape when moving about. They can also appear in pictures as being long and narrow and having a tread like design within their body. They are readily confused with a speeding orb when they slow down and take on this straight & narrow look. It's not presently known if a vortex has ever been captured on video tape. It should be noted that they are often felt as a cold spot." Check this site our for more paranormal definitions. And to clear it up with pictures: A "votex," looks like this: An "orb," looks like this: An "ectoplasm/ecto-mist/ecto-vapour," looks like this: An "ecto-swirl," looks like this:
Olivier Posted November 25, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Thanks, Diebytheflyguy, your explainations are clear and useful (and with pics to illustrate!) I can see on the picture of a vortex that it's got a shadow : so, it ca be seen with the eyes - I mean, without necessarilly a camera ? What could be seen on the dog was not seeable in reality, without the use of the camera. If useful, I remind you that the animals playing together were the reason of the picture : the shiny thing was an "accident" seen afterwards on the computer. David_Cubero Posted November 25, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Yep, I thought the same thing about the dog and cat. The dog seems to be having "lunch." Nonetheless, I have seen these sorts of pics often, (with strange lights and things appearing in them, etc.,) as have many other ppl in this forum. The one thing that strikes me as odd is that animals are normally keenly aware of supernatural entities in their vicinity. Perhaps the dog is to busy "eating" and the cat is too busy being "eaten" to notice, but both seem to be oblivious to the light. Therefore I would say that this is probably some type of natural photographic artifact, like as Diebytheflyguy suggested, a hair caught in the photo. That's my take on this, for whatever it's worth. Cute dog and cat though, thanks for sharing the snap.
Olivier Posted November 26, 2004 Author #8 Share Posted November 26, 2004 Thanks everyone. I thought as you, David concerning the awareness of animals when confronted with supranatural entities. What was striking, "frightening", was the impression that the thing had caught, seized the spine of the dog. After I thought of it, and after I read Dieby...... 's message, I really agree concerning the hypothesis oh the hair. Indeed, a cat's hair (especially hairs located in the inside of the fur) can be zigzagging like the shape on the picture. Thank you all Olivier
autopsies Posted November 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 27, 2004 To me, it only seems Photoshoped...It doesn't exactly look like a /real/ vortex.... Just a thought though.
Olivier Posted November 27, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted November 27, 2004 Hello, The picture has not been submitted to any artificial change. Anyway, the idea of a vortex has been abandonned for the idea of a cat's hair. Bye Olivier
Insight Posted November 29, 2004 #11 Share Posted November 29, 2004 If this is evidence of the supernatural I'll cut off my own head and eat it. I have to subscribe to the hair theory, or perhaps the photoshop theory. Ther hair one seems best though.
Olivier Posted November 30, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted November 30, 2004 Hello, Once again, this picture was not photoshopped !!! It's been given to me by my (worried) step-sister. We even don't have the Photoshop program. Knowing nothing in that field, I merely suggested this picture to those who master this domain better than I do. Moreover, considering the number of animals who live in our houses, the hair theory seems a satisfying one. Bye Olivier
