http://legalinsurrection.com/2015/11/of-course-clock-kid-is-suing-for-15-million-in-damages/

"Demand letters issued by Mohamed’s attorneys on Monday sought $5 million from the Irving Independent School District and $10 million from the City of Irving in addition to written apologies from the Irving ISD and the city’s mayor and police chief.

The letter to Irving ISD alleges several violations of school policy, including that employees “disregarded the district’s written policies and procedures by detaining, interrogating and attempting to coerce a confession from Ahmed.” The letter also claims Mohamed suffered “severe psychological trauma” and was harassed by officials."

What's a trip to the White House worth these days?

The question on every ones mind is whether they decided to sue before or after the incident. If it was planned, all the controversy would make a lot more sense than it does when applied to a simple story about a Muslim boy facing discrimination.

Bunch of crap. The kid is fine and his father put him up to it I'm sure. Either way, they made out. I read a while ago that the kid was offered a free ride at some prestigious private school somewhere in the Middle East. He accepted it over other offers from here and abroad.

As far as I know an ISIS training and recruiting camps is not what I would consider a prestigious private school. But than again I still think beheadings and killing women for being raped is wrong, silly me. Maybe when he has graduated he could be the next Muslim Senior Advisor to the President of the United States.

I wonder how one will view such events if it was ones own Child that went through such an ordeal ...

If this is true, to be fair, you gotta admire his patriotism. There's pretty much nothing more American than gaming the system and suing people.

Good job kid, take the money because you deserved it.

I see many of you guys talk about how this all was planned etc... But, was his teacher part of this 'conspiracy'? Kid made a working clock, school project and ended up with handcuffs and in police station, that was sick.

The boy wasn't white enough to be legitimate clock maker.

Reputation tainted? By people in the US who are, in pretty much every other country, well-known to be paranoid fearmongers?

I don't think his reputation is going to suffer much because ridiculous religious and politician extremists from the US were suspicious of a scary Muslim kid. People will see that and say "Ah, yes. Well, that is their way, those Americans. Anyway, congrats Ahmed, on your notoriety".

In keeping with the internet meme, I kept this kid in mind as I set all my bombs back one hour for Fall.

That's somewhat disingenuous to me , if there were no action on his or his parents part then this episode is not merely a case of over reaction as Legal Charges were raised and made if I'm not wrong ~ he needs to go through the same Legal Processes to clear his name from the Records. VIs a vis this is just the natural course of actions Civil AND Legal.

Suffering is almost certainly most fleeting when it is on the side of others ~

I hope the suit gets thrown out. They are trying to make all the other kids suffer for the actions of a few. Stupid parents.

They should just take the scholarships he has been differed and move on.

Instead of being rewarded, he should have more punishment meted out to him. Nothing he did deserves $15. Nothing he did deserves one dirty penny. The money-grubbing scum are at it as usual.

Give me a break.......This kid could walk down times square, and not one person would say " hey, the kid who made the clock bomb thing"......

What a joke.

I would bet if 10,000 people were asked : " what is the name of the kid who made a clock, and got arrested because they thought it was a bomb ? "

you would get 9,950 answers of " what the hell are you talking about "

50 answers of " We are not all bad people "
