Still Waters Posted May 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2016 It's the holiday snap that could have very easily become, well, a snap of an altogether more painful sort. This was the moment a daring traveller posed for a picture with a crocodile - even rubbing its back and lifting its tail. Kristina Smith, 25, got close to the predator at the Paga Crocodile Pond in Ghana, in a village where they are thought to be sacred. Perhaps she wasn't aware that it's not just a croc's jaws that are dangerous - they creatures use their tails to swim up to 25mph and even propel themselves off the ground to catch prey. https://uk.news.yaho...-120323589.html
Eldorado Posted May 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2016 "The student admitted she was ‘terrified’ but her two guides assured her it was safe to go in for the picture." Luckily nothing happened but it's a slap those guides are due.

I can assure her that the bridge I'm offering for sale is a bargain, and she will make a lot of money from buying it. So, will she believe me?

glorybebe Posted May 21, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 21, 2016 If it came when the guide whistled, I would think it was domesticated and used to people. Not saying I would go anywhere near it myself

I wonder if that is true if you go through the entire existence of humans? You're probably still right. However, as for me, it's much more likely that the croc would kill me. Thorvir Posted May 24, 2016 #14 Share Posted May 24, 2016 All around us, we see stark reminders that Darwin got it right about natural selection. The stupid will eventually be eaten by crocs or sharks or bison, and the smarter-than-that reap the benefits of continued existence.
GlitterRose Posted May 24, 2016 #15 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Those sacred crocs are more likely to take a chunk out of you just for irritating them.
