LostSouls7 Posted May 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 22, 2016 Do you seek true love or a soul mate? I often did. But then I started getting busy making money etc. I would drink a lot every week.. to either be drunk or tried or both. This way I would not feel much emotion... unless it was the drunken buzz. I have not drank for a couple months now. I feel better healthwise... more energy. But now I feelings are coming back. I start to think I should find love... about soul mates. I day dream about it. Well when I am not busy with my regular projects and other things. At times I wonder about soul mates... a part of me wants to find a soul mate. Then I feel sad like I will never find them... as times I think I want to drink again. Yet I feel good inside... i like nature.. and new diet and teas I drink. Do you seek soul mates? Do you think they are real?

Lilly Posted May 22, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 22, 2016 Personally, I don't think soul mates are real. Oh, there are some people who are very suited for one another...but finding them is just plain 'ole luck IMO.
Grandpa Greenman Posted May 22, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 22, 2016 I know a lot of "soul mates" who ended up in divorce court. So I don't know. Just find someone who makes you laugh.
quiXilver Posted May 23, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2016 My paradigm no longer has room for the modern soul mate idea, even though my wife and I have been together for 27 years.
jmccr8 Posted May 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2016 To me,soul mates are a romantic fantasy. Now don't take my word for it,when it comes to women I've never been right. jmccr8
Galactic Goatman Posted May 25, 2016 #7 Share Posted May 25, 2016 (edited) Do we seek soulmates? Well technically on a biological level we are hormonally inclined to seek out a mate of the opposite sex in order to partake in... *ehem* No, I do not believe in "true love", "soulmates" and "love at first sight". That is the stuff of angsty romance stories and nothing more. Love between two people is the product of nothing more than common interests and physical attraction. (maybe that's why I am still single...) Edited May 25, 2016 by AustinHinton
Podo Posted May 25, 2016 #8 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Soulmates aren't real. Just find someone who makes you happy and stick with it.

Do you think they are real? Absolutely x2! Don't go back to drinking again if you were drinking just to get drunk or alter your emotions. Congrats bigtime for two months too. equiiaddict Posted June 1, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 1, 2016 I don't necessarily believe in soul mates but I do believe that sometimes you meet a person and you just click on every level and it all makes sense. That's how it happened for my boyfriend and I. We had both just gotten out of terrible relationships, and neither of us were looking for anything but it all just sort of fell into place. Now I can't imagine my life without him and he is truly my best friend/better half. It feels like we've known each other forever.
Wordless Wanderer Posted June 2, 2016 #15 Share Posted June 2, 2016 I don't believe in soulmates. I think it's rather impossible to find someone who has the same viewpoint as you on every damn thing in the world. Yeah, you may find people who have a lot in common with you and some might misconstrue it as finding a soulmate. It also depends on your definition of love. fabsx Posted October 23, 2016 #16 Share Posted October 23, 2016 I do not search for a soul mate or true love, I just let it happen naturally because that's how I think that It's supposed to be. Forcing it has higher probability to fail, but this is just my opinion.

BetOnRed Posted April 22, 2017 #19 Share Posted April 22, 2017 No, I've never intentionally sought after soul mates. They're stumbled upon. I believe we do not necessarily have only one, and it's not always romantic/sexual either. I've found my true love, but sadly, we won't be together in this life. mr3rdrock Posted April 24, 2017 #20 Share Posted April 24, 2017 I don't think soul mates aren't real. There are billions of people on this rock, it is unlikely that there is a person out there who you will love at first sight, and they will reciprocate that love, and it will be happy and magic and love and butterflies. Love is often mistaken with infatuation and lust, or in other words Hollywood love. Be thankful that there is no such thing as a soul mate, or else we would have to sift through billions of people and travel all over this marble trying to find "the one". There's plenty of people out there we are all compatible with, but to suggest that there is a thing called true love is a little too Twilight for me. Love is a hard commitment, not something that is universally there.
fabsx Posted May 30, 2017 #21 Share Posted May 30, 2017 I don't think it should be something that you seek, because that way It seems forced. It should happen naturally when you least expect it.

Do you think they are real? Glad you have realised magic and drunk do not a good mix make ! I recommend continuing to work on making yourself whole ... that way you are more likely to attract another whole person ... instead of someone that is relying on you to complete the work they should have done for themselves ..... and visa versa . If you think another person will complete you - or visa versa - .... who gets the blame when they fail ? You will ! As you never lived up to the unreal fantasies they had about you . Thus the relationship wheel goes round and round and round and ...
WoIverine Posted May 30, 2017 #23 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Just have to find that special someone you can tolerate for the rest of your life. That's the key.
Lilly Posted May 30, 2017 #24 Share Posted May 30, 2017 I don't believe in the concept of a soul mate. I do believe that some people manage to find another person they honestly like to be with. However, from what I've seen of marriage this isn't the norm...not even close.
Maureen_jacobs Posted May 31, 2017 #25 Share Posted May 31, 2017 Soulmates exist, however, they are not always your lifelong spouse. I think true soul mates aren't simply the ones you marry, it's the one person on this rock that exists in your life and can always, no matter how long apart, coehesively coexist.
