He did not man handle him. It was actually funny. His son laughed at first, but became embarrassed, and thought going to the police would be a good payback.

I had a friend whose son got smacked around by his little sister (they were probably 9 and 7 at the time) and he had a bruise.  When the teacher asked him how he got it he was too embarrassed to say his sister hit him and so he said his parents did it.  Months of dealing with child services followed.  It was a nightmare.

All just innocent fun, huh? He must have had a really lousy attorney, as Nevada lawyers specialize in getting these sorts of charges reduced or dismissed. I just perused several casefiles much worse than this and the judgments were nowhere near as harsh. Some of the defendants even had prior histories. Pays to get a good attorney. Sounds like your friend was barristered by a rooky DA.

To be fair, this was almost 20 years ago. I do know he spent time in jail, and lost his job after the verdict. Other then that, could not say what the final say was. ( felony or whatever )

After spending 43 some odd years in Sparks, Nevada. I see, saw, the opposite. Although, it does seem certain people got away with things. Just seeing what my Son is going through with the justice system makes me sick......Off topic, sorry about that.

On topic of reply....I went through a very nasty custody battle ( I won, but Son lost with the visitation set up )....To much to even explain here. The evidence was much more then what I said about my friend, and she got away with a lot.

The liberals run most bureaucracies now  and they have no scruples.  The worst thing to a progressive is an intact family and a middle class which is why the first thing every socialist government does is destroy the middle class.
