markdohle Posted May 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2016 The prayer of the simple present In prayer we can only pray for so much, then what? It is then, that the lesson learned, is the importance of this moment before God. To just be and to open up ones heart, mind, body, soul and spirit. It is important to pray for ‘all’, for those we love and those in need, for our friends as well as our enemies…..for in fact we are all united, one, and in each Christ Jesus is to be found. Because of this oneness, when the time comes to be just in the present, uniting ourselves to God’s present, is all that we need do. For then we become one with all, experiencing on some level this unity. Hatred and the desire for revenge, contempt for others and resentments of all kinds, often masked as justice shatters this reality and forces us back on ourselves with the illusion of separation. Yet the unity is always there held together by the love of God as revealed in Christ Jesus. Br.MD
