foxesjon Posted June 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2016 So, i used to be a huge music fan, having the radio on all the time, however recently I have begun listening to podcasts more and more. I love the way i can get lost for half an hour or so, and they have totally replaced my commute to work in the mornings. Whats best is they are all free, sure some of them have adverts but thats a small price to pay for the stories and details about cases we are all interested in? Here are my faves, in no particular order: Hope you'll agree and maybe even check them out or offer your own alternatives. 1. Sword and scale - where my love of crime podcasts began! https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/sword-and-scale/id790487079?mt=2 2. SinisterStream - Similar to the above, but covers historical cases as well as modern ones - I especially liked episode one about a victorian murder in the UK https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/sinisterstream-podcast/id1112133011?mt=2 3. Paranormal Podcast - Dedicated to the paranoramal, has a great variety of guests on the show who talk about books etc they have written. I really liked the interview with the creator of the Phoenix Incident - downside is it's very heavily commercialised. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/paranormal-podcast-jim-harold/id78459818?mt=2 4. Welcome to NightVale - This is well too weird to define - a sort of war of the worlds type parody set in the fictional setting of Nightvale! https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/welcome-to-night-vale/id536258179?mt=2 So guys, what do you think? Have you listened to any of these? Do you have any more?

Do you listen to many podcasts?
ShadowSot Posted June 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 1, 2016 I have a large collection of podcasts I listen to at work. Not sure how many would be to your interest, though. Might try We're Alive. Post zombie apocalyptic fiction. Lore is a good creepy podcast as well, but only listened to a couple so far.
ShadowSot Posted June 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Might try Monster Talk as well. It's more of a skeptical podcast but its a lot of fun, if you can stand puns.

Daughter of the Nine Moons Posted July 10, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 10, 2017 Welcome to Night Vale is brilliant. WELCOME TO NIGHT VALE is a twice-monthly podcast in the style of community updates for the small desert town of Night Vale, featuring local weather, news, announcements from the Sheriff's Secret Police, mysterious lights in the night sky, dark hooded figures with unknowable powers, and cultural events. Turn on your radio and hide.
BiffSplitkins Posted July 17, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 17, 2017 I'm partial to https://paironormalguys.com/ They discuss the paranormal and they have a very good sense of humor. The main theme song for the show. is pretty cool as well.
Claire. Posted July 18, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2017 My favorite are the Terapod Zoology (TetZoo) podcasts. Their focus is primarily paleontology, but they get into all kinds of other areas as well such as cryptozoology. Very informative and the hosts are hilarious.

R. Evans Posted July 21, 2017 #14 Share Posted July 21, 2017 The host of Sword And Scale seems to really like getting into 'dirty details' of the various crimes. He enjoys it way too much.
