questionmark Posted June 22, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 22, 2016 Quote NPR's Susan Davis says the House has yet be gaveled into session so it's unclear what will happen. "Lawmakers are grouped in the well of the chamber, in front of the speaker's dais and in chairs in the front row," Sue reports. "Some members are literally sitting on the floor of the House." Rep. John Lewis, a Democrat from Georgia, announced the sit in this morning. Read more on NPR

Popular Post +OverSword Posted June 22, 2016 Popular Post #6 Share Posted June 22, 2016 This should be in the US politics section. So, when are they going to have a sit in about campaign finance reform? When will they have a sit in about bringing jobs back to the USA? When are they going to have a sit in about deconstructing the police state they have legislated? Gun control??? Really? Just what percentage of Americans are effected by gun violence compared to the subjects I just listed.
questionmark Posted June 22, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted June 22, 2016 well, it is quite easy: If they keep on doing this kind of actions their favorability will increase among 55% of Americans, and that is what they need to get the House back (besides some Republican inaction). +OverSword Posted June 22, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I just don't really buy those numbers as they apply to what you posit. The reason I say that is because both democrats and republicans that will always vote along party lines were likely the main participants in those polls. Does it really matter whether you think they are right or not? The actors seem to think that those numbers are right and act accordingly. Whether they are or not we will see in November (after discounting the Trump effect, of course).
Vorg Posted June 22, 2016 #10 Share Posted June 22, 2016 (edited) I own a few handguns, and a few rifles, and have no problems with what they are demanding. Anything that makes it harder for criminals, or those who shouldn't be allowed to obtain weapons, legally. "Democrats are demanding a vote on two bills before they go: one that bars anyone on the no-fly list from buying a firearm and another that broadens background checks for firearm purchases. +and-then Posted June 22, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 22, 2016 I used to be more willing to give them a pass on their idiocy. I find it harder every day. I am inclined to believe they know full well what is at stake. How shocked will they be when Americans actually fight back - with GUNS - when they push too far?

skliss Posted June 23, 2016 #16 Share Posted June 23, 2016 It's another liberal temper tantrum....when they don't get their way they fling themselves on the floor, pound their fists and drum their heels. They've earned this contempt over the recent years for their own actions. And the more contempt they earn, the more powerful the backlash from the majority of this country is eventually going to be.

skliss Posted June 23, 2016 #21 Share Posted June 23, 2016 (edited) Nah...not buying it....she likes too much to pretend she's squeaky clean and it's a conspiracy against her. She's completely vulnerable to blackmail. It's all about image and who is gonna pay her a gazillion dollars for speeches, whether she wins or not, if she ends up with absolute incontrovertible proof of criminal behavior posted for the world to see. Most of my relatives are Democrats and they are horrified by Hillary. More exposure would only make that worse...if it could get worse.
