Ashyne Posted June 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 25, 2016 A strange UFO I recorded today. It is definitely not a drone, but I don't believe in alien UFOs so I think it might be a balloon. It has a rounded plane shape so UFO enthusiasts might mistake it for an alien craft. Shot from 8th floor apartment window (facing North) at Tampines Street 12 in Singapore.Equipment:Konus Konusvue 20x80 Giant Binoculars.Recorded with: Samsung Galaxy S7 rear camera (placed at bino lens) at 6-8x digital zoom.Time of sighting:6:44-6:47 P.M. on 25 June 2016. XenoFish Posted June 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 25, 2016 Kinda looks like a half deflated balloon to me.
+ouija ouija Posted June 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 25, 2016 Sometimes the shape is of a stiff human figure, holding its arms out like wings, and sometimes it looks like a single-seater plane with a tail fin . Did you see any local news reports about it?
FLOMBIE Posted June 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 25, 2016 It's some kind of balloon. And a friendly suggestion: Please hold your phone sideways while filming.
freetoroam Posted June 25, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2016 It looks like an inflatable toy balloon, but as to the speed, it is very difficult to judge as your are doing the classic shaky shaky thing with your phone. You also do not follow it, so we have no idea where it went and how it went. Did it just fly off in the distance? did it get bitten by a bird and burst? Did you see any local news reports about it? I posted this within minutes of the sighting. Also, news reports and people here don't talk about UFOs. But the object looks quite large even before I used my 20x zoom binoculars and phone. I think it must be around 1 meter wide. 29 minutes ago, freetoroam said: It looks like an inflatable toy balloon, but as to the speed, it is very difficult to judge as your are doing the classic shaky shaky thing with your phone. The shaky recording is due to me holding my heavy and large binoculars with 1 hand at one end and the other end supported by the window grill, while my other hand was holding my phone camera and placing it against the binocular lens (left lens), making sure the tiny camera was aligned with the bino lens. In the 3rd clip, I was at almost 20x optical zoom (with my bino) and 8x digital zoom (with my phone camera) so it is impossible to keep it still. PersonFromPorlock Posted June 25, 2016 #9 Share Posted June 25, 2016 Looks like a soaring bird of some sort, to me; a falcon, riding a thermal and looking for pigeons, for instance. The way the 'head' leads in the turns inclines me to think it's not a windblown object.
FLOMBIE Posted June 25, 2016 #10 Share Posted June 25, 2016 It's not a bird, that is pretty certain. I still believe it's a balloon. A meter wide is not too big for a balloon, and it even looks like there is a smily face at the front. I think it's the type of baloon that is attached to stores for advertising something. I probably got loose and flew away.
qxcontinuum Posted June 25, 2016 #11 Share Posted June 25, 2016 (edited) i see some sort of lights or jet propulsion in the back. It has also what appears to be wings. was it falling down on vertical like a brick in a sort of rotating motion or was actually gliding horizontally.. If gliding I know what it is ... your location is a given away to me :-) Edited June 25, 2016 by qxcontinuum

Jeeze, that sounds like hard work, maybe if another balloon comes your way, it would be easier to just stick to the phone and not spend any time with shaky attachments. You could have missed some crucial balloon movements while you were trying to juggle that lot .
Hawken Posted June 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted June 26, 2016 Should be titled- Singapore Balloon Sighting.
+DieChecker Posted June 26, 2016 #14 Share Posted June 26, 2016 I agree..... balloon. It does not appear to be under any kind of control, but is drifting on the wind.

Marcelina Posted June 26, 2016 #17 Share Posted June 26, 2016 Mm. For a few seconds I thought it was just a bird, but then after I watched more, I was kind of thinking of that being a balloon. Or as Qxcontinuum said, it also resembles a wing suit to me too. But I'd go for the wing suit, it is the one that matches the most for me, even though I would never think it would be a wing suit since I never heard of that before. +DieChecker Posted June 28, 2016 #19 Share Posted June 28, 2016 A wing suit would go in a linear path, and no appear to rotate around randomly, and.... Usually rapidly head toward the ground. Whereas the object in the video was spinning around, both ways, and appeared to be floating level across the field of view.

Susanc241 Posted July 4, 2016 #24 Share Posted July 4, 2016 Here in UK we currently have a to advert promoting smart meters for gas and electricity supply. The blue cartoon figure in the ad does look a lot like the 'balloon' in the OPs video. I have tried including an image of the advert figure but it won't work. I think the characters are called Fatz and Eccy if you want to compare.
