Hanslune Posted June 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) I cannot find the underlying paper from Dr Xing Lida that covers this but I would suspect the date comes from the age of the rocks in which the amber was found.....it probably needs a 'circa' added to that date. Poppi Posted June 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) Tres cool. Wish there was a banana for a size comparison. The feathers do not look ready for flight. Maybe those feathers were more for sexual displays, then developed into flight...Males trying to get higher perches/mating calls heard farther? Edit: Doh, read article first, then post.
