Patterns in the sand

On 23 June 2016 I found this strange pattern next to the side of the road on the way to Pearston; South Africa. This pattern wasn't there the previous day (this I remember). I work for a company doing road upgrades (which includes this particular road) and I do inspections each day on the roadsides and I know no machine we have can make this type of pattern.

Does remind me somewhat of some Mesoamerican patterns I've seen, but im still stumped on what it is.

Its not natural, but who made it?

That depends on what they intended it to look like.

But a bored human with time to kill and a tool with a flat edge could.

Why is this in the ET and UFO forum?

I can  not give you the name of the "artist", but its human made.

As for not natural, of course it is, to  the "artist". as part of his art.

But if you mean not natural as - `it is not common to find these growing in this area`, then yeah, I would say its not.

I am going to have to go with Aliens on this one.

Really? i am not so sure, they have not even positioned it centrally. I would hope the aliens could do a better job. ....unless they were in a hurry to get back home before breakfast.

It's just a labyrinth. There are a bunch of different patterns.

I had one in my garden once. Who'd have thought someone would think it was aliens that made it?

The same people who think that demons are behind everything.

Well whomever made it (have it be humans, aliens or the meerkats running about), it is rather odd just to do it there next to the road. But hey. Its done and gave me a chuckle.

Very interesting.  Scratching my head what device would give a wider and then thinner pattern with compression

Easy, it's a small hand-held vacuum, probably a 12V one, using the crevice nozzle attachment.  Held at different angles you could easily control the width quite accurately.

I guess it could also be made with a scraper of some sort, but if they did it that way it would be hard not to leave more obvious 'piling-up' effects..

The device would, of course, have to be piloted by an alien intelligence familiar with earthly maze construction.  It's all part of the rather obvious plan they have...

Wish I could. Seems to be a tad too big for the site (4MB about). unless i'm a bit of an idiot and missed a setting. I can mail it perhaps if you wish.
