Astra. Posted July 23, 2016 #51 Share Posted July 23, 2016 (edited) What I personally find daunting is there are individuals who have been misguided where undeniable evidence and facts have been presented - and they simply wont admit they were / and or are wrong. They either refuse to remove their blinkers or simply allow their large ego's not to accept or acknowledge the truth. There is nothing wrong with being humble and admitting where you may have been mistaken by ridiculous and distorted information. But then to be able to admit to ones own flaws and errors - well that requires courage. Edited July 23, 2016 by Astra.
Habitat Posted July 23, 2016 #52 Share Posted July 23, 2016 The psychology of hoax proponents is mildly interesting, the "facts" they produce, not so much.

I would agree with your sentiment, but the woo--it's just so darn entertaining at times. And drowning them isn't a cool thing to do.

The visor picture would be one of the best.....as you can see our little blue Earth in the visor reflection. Ah, Astra, always 100% on the ball these days.... yes, that's exactly correct. That little blue spot was once thought to just be a stray reflection or a small scratch on the film - such scratches are often bluish for that type of Ektachrome film. But it has now been absolutely proven to be the reflection of earth in Aldrin's gold-coated visor - read on.. Firstly, a terrible admission - that image is in fact tampered with (- Omigod, fakery!!!).... The tampering is just that a little of the gold coloring has been reduced so you can see the actual reflection more clearly. You can, however, easily verify that the blue spot appears in the original - in fact I have a large photo booklet printed in 1969 with this very image on its front cover. It's a huge, beautifully printed image and the spot can be seen quite clearly. At that time, no-one realised it was the earth, - it was sometime later that someone guessed what it might be, and then along came an Internet photographic expert using the handle "GoneToPlaid". He was a whiz at the black art of photogrammetry, which is part of image forensics - it's the science of extracting 3d information from 2d imagery, using various clues and specialised technques and maths... Using techniques that could only be dreamt of back in 1969, GoneToPlaid looked at the image and reverse-engineered it, by 'straightening out' the curved reflection and then working out the angles to see where the earth and sun would be (the shadows obviously point exactly away from the Sun..). As part of that analysis, here's the cropped, mirrored, straightened, processed and annotated image: He then used Planetarium software (he used 'Celestia', but you can get many other programs that will all verify it) to show that at the exact moment that image was taken (which you can even verify further by looking at Aldrin's watch - you can actually just read the the time!!) the earth was indeed exactly where it was shown. But only for someone standing on that location on the Moon, of course. There it is, reflected in the visor of a human being walking on another world for the first time in history. Further on in the analysis (see photo 524) he also verifies the phase from another photo taken shortly thereafter. Here's where you can find the full story:http://apollo.mem-tek.com/ISD.html It's a long page - you'll need to go a bit less than half way down, and look for the heading "The "Man On The Moon" Photo 5903", where you can read the entire story and see full sized images. You can easily follow his steps and verify the above analysis amongst many more. You'll never see that behavior on the scumbag websites that promote Apollo denial.. In my not so humble opinion, these folks were heroes. Not just the astronauts who did the deed, but the hundreds of thousands of workers who diligently and tirelessly and carefully helped with all the planning, the design, the manufacture, the testing and then the final implementation. And then there are those who came later and verified it all, like GoneToPlaid. Those folks: know their stuff research carefully work hard at their craft want to know the truth, and have the skills to find it recognise and appreciate the efforts of those heroes that got us to the Moon But the Apollo deniers and those who promote this hoax bullmanure? They seem to be the exact opposite of all those things. Edited July 23, 2016 by ChrLzs .. named wrong planetarium software..

You certainly are a chap who 'knows his stuff' and is very passionate about it where the first Moon Landing is concerned. Also thank you for verifying our tiny 'Blue Earth' in the reflection of the visor - and also sharing the other relevant and important information that obviously 'proves' to the doubters that this wonderful event took place. There was also information that I myself had not been fully aware of - so extra appreciation sent your way for that as well ChrLzs. ~ A quote from the late Neil Armstrong ~

You are NOT helping, other than to reveal lack of knowledge of the topic. It is quite easy to source images from the proper source, eg the Apollo archives. Whoops, sorry, should have checked that first image I posted closer, it looked legit. The second one I posted was in fact legit. I posted the link to the Apollo archive knowing that there were at least a few in there too. Thanks for all your work and comments on this ChrLzs, and everyone else who works to enlighten and help others to grow and learn. Just like MID did.
pallidin Posted July 24, 2016 #63 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Good to hear that the moon landings were all a hoax. This would, of course extend to the "fact" that ISIS is a hoax as well.

No worries - I probably was a bit harsh given you were clearly trying to help - and I'll happily admit I've been suckered a coupla times! And while there will never be another like MID, I can hopefully help out with some of the stuff I think he, in a much more eloquent way, would have posted...
