~  for non Aussies ; Canberra is the capital of Australia,  in its own 'state' ;   ACT -  'Australian Capital Territory'  - not known for its exciting atmosphere  ..... unless you like smoking dope, porn and fireworks * .

* lax marijuana laws - why ?  Politicians that make the laws there dont want their kids locked up for a 'bit o puff'.

lax porno publication laws (used to be )  - thats for the Pollies themselves .

fireworks .....    ?     dunno       ... but if you are passing through , pick  some up for me :)

again your the one that says matter can't go the speed of light.  but at leas one form of matter can go the speed of light and that is light.  light is matter because gravity acts on it, bending it thus light can't escape from a black hole.

I don't really care for these threads as religion is not my kind of thing, but I do tend to read them sometimes. I rarely, if ever comment on them, however, this is so stupid I have to comment. Even though many others have pointed this out, I have to state light is not matter! Now I just have to ask: by all means of respect, are you really this daft and can simply not understand this basic fact or are you (as usual) making up stuff to support the apparent shaky foundation of your religious beliefs? Admittedly that was a rhetorical question as the answer is pretty obvious.

Either way, you are so blatantly wrong that is is toe cringing, but then again, you have made it a habit of parading yourself being repeatedly exceedingly and embarrassingly wrong for reasons I cannot even begin to fathom (well, I do have a suspicion, but I'll keep that to myself for now).

Good grief, the ignorance you will allow yourself to put on display.

Cheers,

Daniel, never try to justify religion with science--especially if you don't know what you're talking about. Here, dive into this link. As esoteric as it may read, it's the Sunday morning supplement version. When you start floundering we'll throw you a lifeline.                      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photon

Well wish I could say that goes both ways. Not much about your comments is actually obvious.

Confusion reigns about:

You commented on Xeno posting the number plate - he didn't I did, he replied to my post.

And I feel you all have us at a loss as to why he should have to do what the number plate says?????

And while I am at it, why you post in bold coloured text.

So by all means actually explain what you're saying. In technocolor if you'd like. Because all I'm seeing is something that sorta comes off as judging but not even sure what the hell you're actually trying to get at. If you've got some kinda criticism be blunt about it. As I mentioned before no on asked me what I wanted on my license plate. Yet it seems to me that you think I did.

Perhaps the majority of that 42% lives in the South?

I'll believe there is an overwhelming bias against atheist in the US government when you show me a thousand examples. A handful of examples might just be individual instances. And, I've seen people in other "minority" situations who've complete a-holes who blame the hard time they have by way of racism, or discrimination.

Blacks in the US, for instance, can show millions of instances where they are discriminated against every day. Can atheists show that? I think the "problem" isn't as great as some make it out to be.

I think it really depends on how one looks at any given problem. That one demographic is targeted more than another does not invalidate the problems faced by the one with fewer issues. I doubt anyone thinks that atheists are victimized on the scale that, say, homosexuals are, or africans are, or transgendered people are; if they do, I'd say they need to give their head a shake. But the troubles of other groups don't negate the troubles of any other group. Everything is important for someone, and troubles are troubles are troubles.
