Xenofish said that.

Ah, fair point.

He's right to a certain degree, if you want to get pedantic about the word "accurate".  Memories are never 100% accurate.  Our minds are not like digital photographs stored on a hard drive, with accurate reproductions that can be stored over time with 100% fidelity.  But it's not useful to think of these things in black and white terms, like a memory falling neatly into categories of either "right" or "wrong".   They can be simply more or less accurate or inaccurate.

I looked up these orange balls and they are reported around the world. Meteor maybe? Space junk? I don't know. It could be anything. Whatever it was, it sounds like it was really pretty to look at.

Hu? I don't know why I didn't consider a meteor. Its possible I guess.

Perhaps you should reread my post.  I never said your memory of the event was inaccurate so you're defending yourself against a strawman here.  In fact I went out of my way to twice point out that I wasn't trying cast doubt on what you recall witnessing.

Sorry Jess, I should have been more clear who I was responding to.

It could have been a slow meteor as those are the ones that usually appear orange or red in color.  Fireballs also appear in those colors.

More info here: http://www.amsmeteors.org/

You might also want to check to see if there were any reports of meteors in the area you were at that night.
