well, lets hope it works...on the other hand, if you like fish Asian Carp could make a tasty meal for humans too... and given its abundance quite cheap.

There is the series of electric barriers in Chicago to cut off carp from Lake Michigan, and there has also been a berm newly finished in Fort Wayne area to help prevent potential access to Lake Erie.

It's an older article, from 2014, but this USA Today article is well written, and it includes links to the most recent Army Corps of Engineers report about the entire Great Lakes and Mississippi area. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2014/01/06/asian-carp-report-great-lakes/4348241/

And a nice site that has a lot of information about Asian carp in the Midwest: http://www.asiancarp.us/faq.htm

And questionmark made an excellent point. Asian carp are quite good eating. We should be fishing the dickens out of them. At this time, it's mostly sport fishers and a few small commercial places that fish for them. If we expanded on that, it could bring a welcome source of fresh fish to parts of the U.S. that don't necessarily see as much good or inexpensive fish that more seaside areas enjoy.

I'm also all for re-introducing native species of alligator gar. That's just wise and cool to do. And it's right fine eating too!

And, from the videos I've seen they are extremely easy to catch!  Jump right in the boat for you.

That can be less of a pleasure if you are in the flight path of a larger one.
