Korryn Gaines’s five-year-old son was also shot in a limb during a stand-off with police at their home in Randallstown, Maryland." They weren't able to resolve this case without firing a gun? How ridiculous. This probably was just to show "dominance".
Popular Post simplybill Posted August 2, 2016 Popular Post #2 Share Posted August 2, 2016 A mother using her own child as a shield while holding a shotgun and threatening to kill people probably raised some red flags. I'm glad the kids are okay.
Popular Post glorybebe Posted August 2, 2016 Popular Post #3 Share Posted August 2, 2016 If she loved her child she would never had put him in danger. Pointing a gun at a cop and threatening to kill them is not something anyone should do without expecting dire consequences. What kind of mother was she? Put the children in a room safe and sound, not use him as a shield.

And not the cops who are supposed to be trained and who are supposed to know how to handle such a situation. Additionally she was not a murderer, drug-dealer, rapist or whatever, she only committed some traffic violations. So, the cops accomplished to provoke her that much, that she became threatened and felt the need to protect herself and her son with a shotgun. Wow what an accomplishment. I call those police officers incompetent. Edited August 2, 2016 by hellwyr

You meet the cops with a gun pointed at them, you face the consequences. Simple fact. Don't want to be shot at? Don't shoot at the police. With people so eager to hate the police even though most of the shootings are of criminals who put themselves in harms way, it is no wonder how the country is so divided. Common sense is not having a gun and threatening police when they come to serve warrants for you BREAKING the law in the first place.

The officers did what they're trained to do. This woman was using her own 5-year-old child as a shield while threatening to kill people. The officers rescued the child.
Sweetpumper Posted August 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2016 It wasn't a raid. Saying "Leave or I'll kill you" to a cop was her death sentence. What a moron. At least the kid will be okay.

Common sense is not having a gun and threatening police when they come to serve warrants for you BREAKING the law in the first place. The past incidents (the therapist, the one in Baton Rouge and another one) don't convey to me that the police is trained well. And as I mentioned in another thread, the rate of people dying because of the police is compared to other countries abnormally high. @simplybill We don't know that yet. We don't know whether the kid was shot by the police or by his mother (which would be illogical/contradictory considering she was holding him). Michelle Posted August 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 2, 2016 "A police spokesperson said three officers were executing an arrest warrant on Ms Gaines and a man at the same address on Monday morning. He was wanted for assault, while Ms Gaines had had failed to appear in court over several traffic charges, including disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after being stopped by police last March."

K, however that man obviously wasn't there.

Sweetpumper Posted August 2, 2016 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2016 "A MAN" WAS OBVIOUSLY THERE. "Inside, officers found Gaines sitting on the floor pointing a firearm and saw a man fleeing with a 1-year-old child. The man was apprehended and not immediately identified." Gromdor Posted August 2, 2016 #15 Share Posted August 2, 2016 I thought the cops came to the man and woman's apartment and was going to arrest the lot of them and take the children away or some such thing. There was a five hour stand-off and the woman and kid was shot after she returned fire after the police fired for some reason. Wasn't there something about there being no body cams either?

Sounds like that first thing was the plan. So the police shot first, knowing there was a kid.

Apparently he had given that address as his own. Good grief, some people need to read these things with more comprehension. Maybe read it two or three times.
